Our Software helps to prevent depresion and suicide in schools making statistics based in emocional recognition

Last semester we had 2 suicides in our school, and this is a topic very spoken recently.

We decide to make a software to prevent this accidents by detecting the students which are not emocionally heathly, and have problemas like depresion and suicide.

We discover the Microsoft Emotion API. We implemented it in our proyect to detect the emocions on a photo and determine the dominant emotion. The software has a database with all the students, their information (sex, semester, average, etc). This is planed to be mixed with facial recognition and take several photos everyday, to have the register of the student's emotions. With some psicological conditions we will detect depresion (mayority of negative emotions for a long period of time), and suicidal tendencies (high standar deviation in emotions, bipolarity, angryness). We save the psycologyst, teachers, parents and director of each student. They are related to have contact with them when it is necesary.

We found difficult to mix the facial recognition with the emotion recognition API. Then, we had problems with c# and mac, so we look for the javascript API. We had troubles implementing the information of the API to the database. We also had troubles with the server, the diferent operating systems and compatibily of programing lenguajes.

We are proud of finding a useful utility to the emotional API to help education. Also about the design of the system, like use cases and schemas. We are proud of making work the API even if we didn't see posible to make proyects of this type. Also of conecting the API to the database

We learned to use the API, to make databases and desing systems. We learned about psycology, and we share different programming lenguajes we knew.

The software will detect the causes of this problems, searching for the common characteristics of this type of persons with attributes like sex, semester, average, etc. It will send e-mails to teachers, parents and an assigned psycologyst to take them to events and help them. It will detect places where students have worst emotions. It will learn by itself to make suggestions about solutions for each student.
