Inspiration

Inspired but retro 2d platformer games, working seemlesy with todays mobile devices. I wanted to bring back old nostalgia with a twist. Everyone loves Emojis, constantly used and familiar, so why not collect them in a retro form, avoiding Mr Devil Emoji!

What it does

You must run along floating rocks, which rotate and bob, making sure not to fall. Collect & save Laughter Emojis as you go, making sure to avid Devil Emoji! It's a 1 player game, however i have incorporated a lobby where others can watch and cheer you on! Bringing friends together!

How we built it

This game was build with Blender for the Emojis and TypeScript for the codebase. Meta's A gen was used to create some models, skybox, sound effects and code snippets.

Challenges we ran into

Typescript is new to me, trying to get a grasp of this with additional tools such as the AI was a huge struggle. Time was also a huge factor trying to find time to build this while maintaining and running my other worlds on Horizon Worlds.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Typescript coding! by far the biggest challenge and so happy with the functionality thus far! This is something im now using in all my builds

What we learned

Typescript and spotting similarities so if some code is not working, or errors, possessing the knowledge to to know where to look.

What's next for Emoji Universe: Reaction Rampage

Levels & Power-ups. Adding additional levels and power-ups with a bigger family of Emojis with different effects and "bosses".
