Inspiration
Always enjoyed writing stories and wanted to help children who struggle with dysgraphia—a disability that makes it hard to transcribe thoughts into writing, spelling is also a common issue ✏️
What it does
input an amount of emojis (max 7 at a time) into the textbox and it converts into a short and cute story 🥰
How we built it
We first designed our prototype with Adobe Xd. Then we implemented it into a webpage by using OpenAI's API that takes input text and converts it into a complete set of texts/sentences based on what you feed it. Programmed it to specifically take in emojis to translate into short "family friendly" stories 📖
Challenges we ran into
Implementing our UI design along with the API, we couldn't get it to look exactly perfect because of time issues. I would say it's an 80% match in terms of visuals 🤩
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Finishing because of upcoming midterms (rip grade) 💯
What we learned
All nighters are not worth it, but it was really fun and cute building this 🌙
What's next for Emoji Story
Implement text to speech functionality so users don’t have to read 👀
