Inspiration

I was inspired to do this since I was already doing a project on mental stress detection and was thinking of a cool idea for a fun website.

What it does

Users can submit an emoji from the given selection and also see other emojis submitted by people around the globe.

How we built it

I built it using Django for the backend since i was familar with Django. Used mongo db for data storage and vanilla js , html, css for frontend designs.

Challenges we ran into

Initially I was hoping to create a 3d globe instead of just a map but i couldn't get it to work and and started glitching out so i decided to instead use a normal map itself. Also I had issues with some of the settings especially with mongodb since i am new to using it.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Happy that I could make a fun website nothing to crazy, just some simple emoji emotions. Also better my grasp on Django

What we learned

Learnt how to use mongodb and connect it with django.

What's next for Emoji Emotion Map

Firstly would be nice to implement a 3D globe. Later on I could also try to color different areas on the map where emojis are present in a particular color representing that emotion. And maybe even increase the set of emoji options available for selection as well.
