We were inspired by existing recyclable fabric that can be modified into an interchangeable clothing piece. With each piece, comes a new evolution that creates a new outfit.

Through creating a pair of pants, cape, and dress, we learned that many more outfits can be created than we originally thought. Every outfit transformed into a new look that change with the seasons. This helps consumers become more sustainable because the same set of pieces can be worn in various seasons. There is no need to buy new clothing for each season, when you can transform your own!

We constructed all of our pieces by up-cycling old fabric. Additionally, we used sewing machines, recycled patterns and buttons, to create our garments. We were able to show our designs digitally as well through Adobe Illustrator.

The most challenging piece to create was the cape that transforms into a skirt. It was difficult to form the cape, while also having it double as an overskirt. Originally, we were going to have a top transform into a belt, however in order to have more outfits, we decided to make a dress that transforms into a top.

Overall, we created three main pieces (dress, pants, cape) that can be transformed into seven complete outfits depending on the season and weather.
