Inspiration
The idea behind this was to make users more aware of their individual contribution towards greenhouse gas emissions. In today's fast-paced world, people's aren't always thinking about their carbon footprint. Additionally, there is a common mindset that as individuals, actions we take will not have a perceivable impact. However it is this mindset that has been causing our carbon footprints to rise despite knowing that our actions are harming the environment. Implementation and usage of our app will keep people's personal carbon footprint on the top of their mind. We know that Philadelphians care strongly about the effects of climate change. Our app will get them to make conscious decisions to reduce their personal carbon footprint, and they will be able to see their own numbers go down.
