Inspiration

Flying on an Emirates A380 is undeniably luxurious, but many customers have never experienced it. Our idea was to create a VR experience that would capture the grandeur of an Emirates A380 plane as an example of how Emirates can leverage virtual reality to better sell their entire experience.

Our Method

The front-end is built as a web application utilizing WebVR, allowing any virtual reality device to support our product. We used the a-frame library, built on Three.js to display the 3D models. We also used two node.js servers, one for our mobile app and one for our VR client to allow the salesperson and client to communicate.

The Product

Our VR experience uses the capabilities of the Oculus Quest (though any VR-capable device can work) to allow the user to experience a first-class suite in a Boeing A380. An Emirates salesperson is able to give the consumer, be them a corporation, travel agent, or consumer, a VR headset and walk the consumer through the virtual environment. The salesperson will be able to control certain aspects of the environment through their smartphone, with popups to inform the consumer of various perks and amenities in the flight.

Our Goal

We want to allow Customers and the Emirates Sales Team to have an immersive experience that highlights the luxury of the Emirates A380. This will showcase the Emirates journey and products close to reality, and assist in the buying and selling process.

What's Next

While currently, the salesperson can navigate the different slides by displaying different text in front of them, you can imagine the impact of pairing the "Dining" text with models of Emirates-food right in front of them, placing them in different lounges while highlighting different tiers of membership rewards, etc.
