This project utilizes the Olimex EMG/EKG Arduino shield to obtain electromyographic data from the subject. That data can then be interpreted and applied within a medley of programs, notably in the field of biofeedback. In particular, we have created a potential stress therapy in which the patient controls an anxiety-relieving game through muscle tension data. It features a computer-rendered ball that moves either up or down based upon the feedback obtained from the patient. As the ball moves back and forth, we can emulate preexisting anxiety treatments such as eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) through biofeedback. Additionally, we have created two other programs which serve as proof-of-concept towards the validity of the data.
