Inspiration

I knew I wanted to create something to empower women and to help women in society so this safety app combines the two.

What it does

It is an app that helps women stay safe in public. If they are in a situation of harassment, abuse, etc, they can push the "Help" button and five of their trusted companions will be immediately contacted and their location will be shared with them.

How we built it

I built the prototype on Figma, using Twilio for the messaging, Javascript on React, and HTML and CSS.

Challenges we ran into

It was hard to implement all the javascript functions alongside the HTML code.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud of creating a user-friendly app that is concise for users to follow.

What we learned

I learned how to incorporate APIs into a database.

What's next for EmergenShe

To develop this app on iOS and Android for women to use in public places.
