We were inspired by ACM for Change's challenge
What it does
Our application serves as a comprehensive benefits interpreter for employees by leveraging semantic search algorithms to decipher complex jargon and present a simple list of employee benefits. Using OpenAI's api we additionally simplify what their benefits mean.
How we built it
We built our project using React for the frontend and Python with Flask for the backend as well as OpenAI's API
Challenges we ran into
Working with data organized in more complicated ways like charts was a huge challenge. Additionally, one of our team members ghosted which made it hard to understand what they had originally written meaning we had to essentially redo our frontend in 2 hours.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Working with pdf markup was way harder to deal with than we originally thought.
What's next for EmbeddedBenefits
Allowing users to query for specific benefits and to compare their benefits with industry standards
