Inspiration
As college students, we are stuck between a world of social media and school. Often, we sacrifice our time spent in school for time on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc.
We combined the unlikely pair and created something we are really proud of.
What it does
Unlike most other to do list apps, every time you make a task in our app, you're asked to submit an embarrassing picture of yourself, log into Facebook, and set a time limit. If time runs out, our app publishes the photo to Facebook on the user's behalf.
How I built it
Conceptualized over two weeks and built in less than two weeks, this application was a creative exploration for our team. Our team, with developers brand new to iOS development, went through a steep learning curve but ultimately we were able to complete our application.
Challenges I ran into
With the short development time, we were unable to implement the complexities of our application. Instead, we created an MVP utilizing purely Swift 3 - without the aid of any libraries or API's.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We as a team are extremely proud of everything we've accomplished and learned in the short timespan!
What's next for Embarrassing Productivity iOS App
What's next is the exciting and funny part! We will bring in actual social media implementation, starting with a Facebook login! Additionally, it would be an extra leap to utilize the Microsoft Cognitive Services API to detect whether the image the user uploads is actually "embarrassing".
