Inspiration
Emavia was inspired by the Gabby Beckford brief, which challenged us to think beyond generic productivity tools and design something meaningful, intentional, and human-centered. The brief pushed us to focus on purpose, sustainability, and long-term impact rather than short-term efficiency.
What it does
Emavia is a mobile experience designed to help women stay connected to their personal goals in a more conscious and adaptable way, turning reflection and intention into something practical and motivating.
How we built it
Emavia was built as a native iOS app using SwiftUI and an MVVM architecture, with a strong focus on clean state management, scalability, and a thoughtful user experience. Local persistence, analytics, and subscription management were integrated from the start to support real-world usage.
Challenges we ran into
One of the main challenges was balancing simplicity with depth: creating something that feels lightweight and intuitive while still supporting meaningful long-term use. Translating an abstract idea into a clear product experience also required many iterations.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re especially proud of delivering a polished, cohesive product under hackathon constraints, with a strong visual identity, a clear narrative, and a technical foundation ready to grow beyond a prototype.
What we learned
This project reinforced the importance of designing with intention first and features second. We also learned how powerful it is to align product vision, design, and technology from the very beginning.
What's next for Emavia
Next steps include refining the experience based on real user feedback, expanding personalization, and continuing to evolve Emavia into a product that can support users over time in a sustainable way.emav
