In our everyday routines, writing emails can be a hassle, especially when we're juggling between formal and informal tones. That's why I've had this idea: imagine an email assistant who crafts perfect emails based on your input. It can be a game-changer, ensuring your message is grammatically sound and hits just the right tone every time. Plus, think about the global reach – sometimes we need emails in different languages, right? So why not add live translation to the mix? With this nifty assistant, you'd save heaps of time and nail those emails effortlessly.

What does it do?

Email Buddy is your go-to solution for crafting polished and personalized emails effortlessly. Seamlessly generating two tailored versions—Formal and Informal—based on your provided content. Need it in your preferred language? No problem. The Email Buddy offers translations for both versions. Simply input your desired target language and let the magic unfold. Elevate your communication game with concise, professional emails in a snap. Plus, there's an added bonus: a chatbot that helps you tweak bits and parts of the generated email as you wish, giving you the perfect concoction of what you're looking for. Challenges & Accomplishments

When I delved into developing Email Buddy, I faced some real head scratches that put my creativity and problem-solving skills to the test. One biggie was making sure all those responses flowed nicely and didn't crash the system - juggling all those responses was no joke! I had to tread carefully to make sure each response felt natural and smooth. I also had to align the translations with the two variations - if and when the user needed a translation.

Then there's the chatbot - I had to train it to understand what users were asking for without going off on a tangent and generating responses willy-nilly. It was all about getting it to grasp the subtle nuances of user input and the pragmatics of the generated emails/responses. Not only does the chatbot help the users tweak the generated content as they see fit but it also gives users some helpful feedback to help them up their communication game.

What I learned?

Developing Email Buddy taught me heaps! I learned the ins and outs of fine-tuning prompts and LLM responses. Training the chatbot was another eye-opener - understanding user queries and delivering just what they needed was key. I've learned how to recognize a problem or realize a vacuum and build a solution accordingly that can be helpful to a lot of people.

What's next for Email Buddy?

The sky's the limit! First up, I want to fine-tune the system even more, making it even more user-friendly. Then, I'm thinking about expanding its capabilities - maybe integrating more tonality, and variation options or adding even smarter features to the chatbot. And of course, there's always room for improvement, so I'll keep gathering feedback and tweaking things until Email Buddy is the ultimate email assistant!
