Inspired by the lack of success many young professionals face when first challenged with a public speaking task.

What it does

Everyone wants to be a better public speaker. Students and professionals alike attend conferences, buy books, or pay coaches to learn how to improve their public speaking. However, there is still a lack of availability of a method to quickly analyze your speech patters and learn what you can do to improve in real time. Eloqy is an communciation coaching application that does just that. Eloqy analyzes the user’s speech patterns as they record themselves giving a speech or presentation, and gives recommendations based on these results. Eloqy can measure parameters such as pace, pitch, most frequently used words, and more. The app can also play back the user’s speech, so they can hear for themselves how they can improve.

How I built it

It was built using Google Play speech recognition libraries and MPAndroidChart library.

Challenges I ran into

We faced many challenges in trying to analyze real time speech data, do the algorithms used to determine a word and confidence levels.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

The app is quick and easy to use for any public speaker.

What I learned
