What it does

ELO is a top-down 2D adventure where players help a silent wanderer, Elo, break the chains of trauma of others and himself. Using dialogue as a weapon, players experience the importance of community, compassion, and emotional growth. Each character freed becomes a part of Elo’s journey, building towards a climactic, symbolic final battle against his own inner trauma, supported by the very friends he helped. Throughout the levels, we are revealed more of Elo’s past, and every freed soul gives you a new ability — and another chain to carry.

How we built it

We use minimal 16x16 pixel art to tell a deep story — every visual, from the title screen’s sprout to the link of chains between Elo and those around them, carries symbolic weight. For our first-ever game, we had to learn Godot and Piskel in under 48 hours, but we’re not proud of just the mechanics, but of the message: helping others helps us heal too.
