Inspiration
Fantasy, surreal and improbable digital fashion. Stuff that is beyond the curve when it comes to creativity, invent materials which would be impossible otherwise. When I think of the digital fashion I'd like to wear with AR at hand, I think about the physics of the impossible, to trick the main. Have an object behave just as anything would in real life, how a bracelet would swing, but instead of going for obvious beads, have an ocean in there. Have a ring that opens up a portal; make it the stuff of dreams.
What it does
It's a biomorphic-shaped bracelet sculpted in nomad sculpt textures with materials that contrast and respond to movement. One material is to feel like a hybrid between wood and leather, and the other is basically the waves of the ocean, but always with you.
How we built it
Sculpted in nomad, then used the wrist try-on template and looked for vertex distortion style materials that would respond to physics. I can make them myself in Meta Spark, but here I had to resource from the asset library as I've just started using this program.
Challenges we ran into
This project was primarily smooth sailing. The only problem is the wrist occluder, which seems to clip no matter what I do, so I figured it's something that is default at the moment.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The textures, shape and colour are spot on.
What we learned
That I have to dive into visual scripting if I am to play with vertexes in a way that I can customise it more thoroughly in order to add sound and other interactivity
