Inspiration
Drowning is chosen as a problem due to its significant impact on public health, particularly during the summer months when outdoor water activities increase. It is a leading cause of unintentional injury death globally, affecting diverse demographics but disproportionately impacting children and certain ethnic groups. Despite its prevalence, drowning accidents are often underreported, and traditional detection methods may not be sufficient to prevent fatalities. Addressing drowning not only saves lives but also promotes safer recreational activities and contributes to overall community well-being. Therefore, tackling this issue is crucial for enhancing public safety and reducing preventable deaths, especially in regions with high rates of drowning incidents.
What it does
A Smart Wearable Device with Vital Sign Monitoring like a wristband. GuardianWave monitors vital signs and water pressure in real-time to detect potential drowning incidents.
How we built it
We can built a chip design and a webpage which sets alert. Stays green on when it's clear and becomes red on alert. We wrote the expected ideal code for the chip in the wristband.
Challenges we ran into
Challenges we faced :
- implanting the idea in code
- keeping it short yet effective
Accomplishments that we're proud of
