Inspiration

Learning to speak fluent English requires consistent daily speaking practice. Traditional tutoring is expensive and hard to schedule, while static vocabulary apps do not build active conversational speaking confidence. We created Elispeak to provide an always-available, conversational AI tutor that listens, responds naturally, and guides learners with real-time feedback.

What it does

Elispeak (https://elispeak.com) is an interactive AI-powered conversational language tutor. Users practice spoken English through realistic dialogues, interview simulations, and everyday scenarios. The system evaluates pronunciation, grammar accuracy, and vocabulary depth in real time, helping learners identify weak points and improve fluency fast.

How we built it

Elispeak is built with modern web technologies:

• Frontend: Responsive React SPA with low-latency audio capture and real-time visualization.
• Audio Pipeline: Real-time streaming speech recognition and neural text-to-speech synthesis.
• AI Core: Contextual dialogue generation with custom prompt orchestration for adaptive difficulty and structured feedback.
• Infrastructure: Cloud-native scalable serverless architecture.

What's next for Elispeak

We are expanding Elispeak with personalized mentor check-ins, advanced accent training, and localized role-playing modules tailored for professional job interviews.
