Inspiration
There are many people who like engineering, quit engineering because of the “failure” their brain sees, unable to achieve and learn in the beginning due to knowledge barriers. Science proves that 80-92% of people quit a task after a couple of days either because it's hard or needs effort or new to them. Most of the people I know, myself included, get frustrated because of the “failure” or rather them not being able to do a certain task in the process, and that leads to them either losing interest in that or having a not a very good feeling towards the field.
What it does
What MIDNIGHT does is help the users get past the knowledge barrier by working with them and explaining each step for a certain task they chose (like coding or build a robot). It also has built-in digital twins to show and explain the user how the machinery works. This is like engineering assistant for people who struggle with the beginning part.
How we built it
I used Gemini to code the UI, ChatGPT codex for the functionality, and I made the UI design myself.
Challenges we ran into
There were a lot of challenges, the AI models sometimes wouldn't work, the UI had to go through a lot updates, I had to make 10 software functionality updates (4 times starting from scratch), the AI wouldn't respond correctly, it used to make errors and crashed.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm proud of what I've built, making it a real website starting from nothing. I'm also proud that I made something that helps people who facing an issue.
What we learned
I've learned how start my projects from now on, how to structure them, and mainly that it takes time and patience to achieve something that I've wanted.
What's next for Elexit - MIDNIGHT
There are very huge updates coming for MIDNIGHT with software updates such as custom digital twins, 3D modeling, more models, more flexibility, and others, and aesthetic updates such as user defined UI, color themes, accounts, and others.
