Inspiration

We started with one insight: it’s hard to become what you can’t see. Many young women don’t see STEM role models who share their background, identity, or lived experience. Elevra exists to make representation personal, not generic.

What it does

Elevra is an AI‑powered role model discovery app that matches young women with real STEM role models who share their identities, pathways, challenges, and goals. Students swipe through relatable stories, explore pathways, and take action with tailored opportunities.

How we built it

We designed a transparent, weighted matching system — not a black‑box AI — using tags for identity, interests, location, and lived experience. We built a swipe‑based interface, story cards, pathway maps, and a “Missing Story” alert that highlights representation gaps. Human‑centred design guided everything, including optional identity fields and future LinkedIn/resume import.
