Inspiration

ElevateIQ is an AI-powered career readiness and interview preparation platform designed to help students and job seekers improve their resumes, practice interviews, and track their job readiness in one unified system. It simulates real-world hiring scenarios using AI-based feedback systems (mocked in this version) to guide users toward better placement outcomes.

What it does

ElevateIQ is an AI-powered career readiness platform that helps students and job seekers prepare for placements and interviews in a structured and interactive way. It allows users to upload or paste their resumes to get an ATS compatibility score, identify missing keywords, and receive suggestions for improvement. The platform also includes tools like a resume roaster for fun but constructive feedback, an AI resume rewriter that improves bullet points using strong action verbs and measurable impact, and a job description matcher that compares a resume with a specific job role to show how well it fits. Additionally, it provides an AI interview coach and mock test generator to simulate real interview scenarios with questions, scoring, and feedback. Finally, a placement readiness dashboard combines all scores to give users an overall readiness percentage and personalized recommendations to improve their chances of getting hired.

How we built it

We built ElevateIQ using HTML, Tailwind CSS, and JavaScript as a single-page web application with a sidebar-based navigation system. Each feature like ATS analysis, resume roasting, interview coaching, and job matching is implemented as a separate section, and JavaScript is used to switch pages and generate mock AI responses. The UI is designed to be modern and responsive, while simulated AI logic is used instead of real backend APIs to demonstrate how the system would work in a real-world scenario.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges we faced was managing multiple features in a single-page structure while keeping the code organized and navigation smooth. Designing a clean and professional UI with consistent styling across all modules was also difficult. Since we didn’t use a real backend or AI API, we had to simulate realistic AI responses using JavaScript, which required careful planning to make the outputs look natural. Ensuring responsiveness and maintaining a good user experience across all sections was another key challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully built a complete AI-powered career preparation platform with 8 working modules in a single web app. We are proud of creating an interactive and modern UI with smooth navigation, dark/light mode, and responsive design. We also implemented multiple career-focused tools like ATS analysis, resume rewriting, interview coaching, and job matching using smart mock AI logic, making the project feel realistic and impactful without a backend.

What we learned

We learned how to build a full multi-feature web application using HTML, Tailwind CSS, and JavaScript, manage UI navigation in a single-page structure, and simulate AI-based functionality using logical mock responses. We also improved our skills in frontend design, user experience, and organizing complex project components.

What's next for ElevateIQ

Next, we plan to upgrade ElevateIQ into a full-stack AI platform by integrating real AI APIs for resume analysis and interview feedback, adding user login and profile tracking, and storing progress data in a database. We also aim to improve the dashboard with advanced analytics, add voice-based interview practice, and deploy the platform online for real users.
