Inspiration

We were inspired by the countless options of exercise available regardless of who you are and your fitness level, and we wanted to show this incredible versatility of exercise with our app.

What it does

Our app is a webpage that has a home page, quiz page, and mission page. On our home page, there is information about the benefit of exercise on your mental and physical health. On the quiz page, there is a short quiz a user can take that gives the user an exercise option based on the preferences the user inputted.

How we built it

We built our app using Visual Studio Code and collaborated with Live Share. We built it through two different languages, HTML and JavaScript, and we also used CSS (stylesheet language) each of these controlled different parts of our program, HTML was the body of the writing, CSS controlled the style/aesthetic, and JavaScript controlled the more technical parts like how the screens switched and showed up.

Challenges we ran into

We had difficulty creating different navigation tabs that led to different pages and switching colors of the tabs based on the page the user was on. Another challenge we ran into was finding a way to display the final exercise onto the users screen in a way that was physically aesthetic.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We also are proud of the deadlines we created to achieve our accomplishments and our ability to work well as a team. Also, we are proud that we were able to figure out how to create a navigation tab and toggle between pages. On the first day of this hackathon, we were struggling with figuring out how to use JavaScript on Visual Studio Code, however through research and continuous testing, we were able to fix problems like these and other challenges we faced. We are also proud of the fact that we created all this in just the span of 2 days!

What we learned

We learned how to implement JavaScript into HTML using the script tag. We also learned to use many CSS features to improve the overall aesthetic of our app.

What's next for Elevated Exercise

We want to add more information and exercise options. We also want to create clubs and interactive groups in our app where people with similar preferences can come together and exercise for fun.
