Inspiration
ElevatED was inspired by the challenges many youth face when transitioning from education to employment. We noticed a gap in practical opportunities that allow young individuals to explore different industries, gain essential skills, and earn money while learning. Recognizing the need for a platform that addresses these issues, we set out to create ElevatED, a solution that empowers youth to achieve their career goals and personal growth.
What it does
ElevatED is a website that connects youth aged 16-30 with temporary job opportunities across various industries. The platform allows users to:
• Network with professionals and expand their connections.
• Explore different career paths through hands-on work experiences.
• Earn money through temporary job placements.
• Access workshops and resources on essential life skills and professional development topics donated by businesses.
How we built it
We will build ElevatED with a strong focus on creating an engaging and intuitive frontend experience.
Here's a detailed look at our approach:
Frontend: We will use HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to develop a responsive and visually appealing user interface. Leveraging frameworks like Bootstrap and libraries such as jQuery allowed us to create a seamless and interactive user experience. Our primary focus was on ensuring that the platform is user-friendly and accessible across various devices.
Design: Our design process involves wireframing and prototyping using tools like Figma to visualize the user journey and refine the user interface. We emphasized a clean and modern design aesthetic that resonates with our target audience of youth aged 16-30.
JavaScript Functionality: We incorporate JavaScript to enhance interactivity and provide dynamic content updates without requiring full page reloads. This included features such as real-time job listings, interactive forms, and user profile management.
This frontend-focused approach allowed us to rapidly develop and iterate on the platform, ensuring a smooth and engaging experience for our users.
