We wanted to build something different — an AI-powered career intelligence platform that goes beyond resume analysis. Our vision was to help individuals understand their professional strengths, identify skill gaps, discover emerging career opportunities, and create a practical roadmap for career growth.

How we built it We designed Elevaite using a modular AI-powered architecture that combines document processing, natural language processing, semantic intelligence, and structured career data.

- Backend: Python and FastAPI for processing and orchestrating the AI pipeline.
- Resume Processing: Apache Tika, pdfplumber, python-docx, and OCR technologies.
- Natural Language Processing: spaCy and NLTK for extracting and understanding professional information.
- Semantic Intelligence: Sentence Transformers and BGE embeddings for understanding relationships between skills, roles, and career profiles.
- Database: PostgreSQL for structured career information and Neo4j for professional relationships and career pathways.
- AI Integration: Large language models for intelligent career analysis and personalized recommendations. We structured the platform as a multi-stage pipeline, transforming unstructured resume data into normalized professional profiles and meaningful career recommendations. Understanding unstructured resumes: Resumes come in different formats, layouts, and structures. Extracting consistent and meaningful information required a robust document-processing pipeline.
Accurate skill identification: Identifying skills from professional descriptions is more complex than simply matching keywords. We needed semantic understanding to recognize related skills and competencies.
Career mapping: Connecting professional experience with suitable industries, job roles, and future career opportunities required structured occupational and skills data.
Reducing generic AI recommendations: We wanted recommendations to be relevant to an individual's actual experience rather than generic AI-generated career advice.
Building a scalable architecture: We needed a modular architecture that could support additional industries, occupational taxonomies, and AI capabilities as the platform grows.
