Eleusis

Inspiration

Personality quizzes are popular among younger generations. We wanted to mix positive mental health practices with trending and cute aspects to help our generation.

What it does

Eleusis starts by offering a short quiz, which users will answer based on their mood for the day. It's nothing too reflective, but short and gives time to destress and watch cute visuals. By the end, it shows the mood trends tracked and assigns a representative animal for that day.

How we built it

We built this application using React, Javascript, and Google Cloud Fire Base.

Challenges we ran into

The majority of our team was unfamiliar with React, and it was some of our firsts using Github. Implementing designs efficiently onto separate pages was also a struggle since the language was unfamiliar to us.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We made a new functional website! The graphics match very well with the theme and they were mostly hand-drawn. The learning curve was large, but most of the team came out with something new they learned.

What we learned

We learned how to use React and Github! We even learned teamwork is very important to crunch deadlines.

What's next for Eleusis

We're thinking of putting it on the web if it gets well received, and specializing more features and questions if possible. Possibly making a phone app to help accessibility to it.
