Inspiration
The creator economy is booming, yet most creators struggle with visibility and monetization due to high platform fees, payment friction, and limited audience reach. Meanwhile, Electroneum's blockchain offers ultra-fast transactions with minimal fees, perfect for micro-payments. We saw an opportunity to bridge these worlds by creating ETN Patron AI - a platform that leverages Electroneum's blockchain technology to enable seamless, borderless micro-payments for creators while using AI to discover and promote emerging talent. Our inspiration stems from wanting to democratize creator support in two ways: making micropayments accessible without prohibitive transaction costs, and using AI to amplify creators' voices through our dedicated Twitter presence @ETNPatronAI.
What it does
ETN Patron AI connects creators directly with their supporters through Electroneum's blockchain. Creators can showcase their work, set up subscription tiers, or receive one-time contributions, all denominated in ETN. The platform's AI agent continuously explores the creator landscape, identifying promising new talent across various niches, and shares their work on Twitter via @ETNPatronAI - giving them valuable exposure to potential supporters. Fans can easily send micro-payments with minimal fees and near-instant confirmation times, removing the friction typically associated with supporting creators. The platform handles smart contract interactions for recurring payments, content gating, and reward distribution, all while maintaining a sleek, user-friendly interface that abstracts the complexity of blockchain technology. By combining blockchain-powered payments with AI-driven creator discovery, ETN Patron AI creates a virtuous cycle of exposure and support for emerging creators.
How we built it
We built ETN Patron AI using a modern tech stack designed for performance and scalability. The frontend is crafted with Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS with ShadCN UI components for a responsive and accessible user experience. On the backend, we leveraged Supabase for user management, content storage, and analytics, which provides a solid foundation for our AI recommendation engine. The blockchain integration is powered by custom Solidity smart contracts deployed on the Electroneum Mainnet using Hardhat for development, testing, and deployment. These contracts handle subscription logic, escrow services, and payment distribution. The ETN Patron AI agent explores and learns about new creators and tweets about them on X @ETNPatronAI
Challenges we ran into
Integrating with Electroneum's blockchain presented unique challenges, particularly in optimizing gas usage for micro-transactions and ensuring a smooth user experience when interacting with the blockchain. Creating intuitive wallet connections that don't intimidate non-crypto users required design iterations. The AI component needed careful calibration to provide meaningful insights without overwhelming creators with data. We also faced technical hurdles in ensuring cross-platform compatibility and maintaining performance with real-time data updates. Additionally, designing smart contracts that balance security with gas efficiency required significant testing and refinement, especially for recurring payment functionality.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're particularly proud of creating a seamless user experience that masks the complexity of blockchain technology while preserving its benefits. Our platform enables truly micro transactions (as small as a few cents) without proportionally high fees, something traditional payment processors simply cannot match. The AI recommendation engine has shown promising early results in helping creators optimize their content strategy and pricing models. We've successfully implemented a gasless transaction experience for new users, allowing them to interact with the platform before needing to understand cryptocurrency. Perhaps most significantly, we've built a solution that aligns perfectly with Electroneum's vision of financial inclusion and practical cryptocurrency use cases.
What we learned
Through building ETN Patron AI, we gained deep insights into Electroneum's blockchain architecture and its unique advantages for micro-payment applications. We learned valuable lessons about optimizing smart contract gas usage, creating intuitive onboarding flows for non-crypto users, and balancing on-chain versus off-chain operations for performance. The project enhanced our understanding of the creator economy's pain points and how blockchain technology can address them in meaningful ways. We also discovered the challenges of building AI systems that provide actionable insights without overwhelming users with data, finding the right balance between sophistication and simplicity.
What's next for ETN Patron AI
Our roadmap includes expanding the AI capabilities to provide more sophisticated content and monetization recommendations based on cross-platform analytics. We plan to implement creator collectives, allowing groups of creators to pool resources and cross-promote. Mobile app development is on the horizon to further increase accessibility. We're also exploring integration with Electroneum's existing mobile ecosystem to tap into their established user base. Advanced features like automated content scheduling based on AI insights, expanded tipping options during live streams, and creator-specific NFT functionality are planned for future releases. Finally, we're working on a comprehensive analytics dashboard that will give creators unprecedented visibility into their revenue streams and audience engagement.
