Inspiration
We were presented with a challenge to create a user interface that would help families get in touch with refugees in need. Our drive for helping others while using our experience with computers made us accept the challenge wholeheartedly.
What it does
Refugees specify their needs in the interface so that they may be matched up with a donor who will satisfy their needs. The donors also enter what they are willing to give, such as time, money, clothes, food, etc. Our website lends a helping hand by sending donors and refugees to nonprofit organizations.
How we built it
Using the HTML program codepen, the team managed to create a matching database.
Challenges we ran into
We had trouble trying to maintain a cloud database for this project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to create good transitions between forms. The original artwork complimented the webpages.
What we learned
Some of the team members learned to become familiar with Javascript. We also became more aware about the situation of refugees fleeing to the United States. The United States has a large impact on the safety of refugees, and it is known as a safe haven.
