Inspiration

Interest is one of the major factors to consider when picking elective classes, but the current UTD class planner system does not have this feature, so we are using this pain-point as an inspiration to create a solution.

What it does

This application generates a list of classes for you based mainly on interest as well as class difficulty, schedule, etc.

How we built it

First, we retrieve class data from Nebula API, then we extra the data and frame it a list. Set up a couple of functions as filters to narrow down classes for the users. Meanwhile, we built a corresponding UI for it using Figma, HTML, and CSS.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into a few issues retrieving and sorting through the data from Nebula API.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully sorted the data tables, as well as sorted course numbers by interests. We are proud of our design for the front end and the logo, we used tools that we learned within this hackathon at the UX design workshop.

What we learned

UI design using Figma, front-end development, python, and working with API's.

What's next for Elective Classes Recommendation?

Add a favorite feature so the user can save the classes they favorite.
