Inspiration COVID-19 has left great impacts on many fields, especially the healthcare system. The elderly are supposed to be strongly influenced. Due to serious lockdown, the elders might have a high probability of feeling anxious about the pandemic as well as the self-care for themselves and their families. Those worries will lead to anxiety disorders or depression among the elders. We, therefore, create HEALTH’ CHECK to alleviate concerns and help the older people acknowledge tips to take care of themselves in case they live far from their children during the lockdown.
What it does In HEALTH CHECK, we provide information related to the COVID-19 by having “The Pandemic” tab which showcases the latest articles about the pandemic. Next, we have a tab to acknowledge users about the “COVID-19 Symptoms.” We know that there are so many articles and websites listing out those symptoms, however, we still want to have a small slide here to make the web as convenient as possible. The following tabs are “The Nutrition" and “The Over-Counter Remedies." These two informative tabs will provide the elders more useful information about what they should eat to strengthen their wellness. Together with what solutions or medicines they should have at home during the pandemic. Then, the elders can access “Sanitization Daily" with three small tabs that instruct the elders about washing their hands properly, gargling their throat, cleaning, and steaming their living areas. Last but not least, the elders will be reminded of what they should or shouldn't do before and after getting vaccinated. By creating these tabs, HEALTH CHECK hopes to informatively support users as much as possible so that they can conveniently know what to survive physically once they access our website. Welcome to the most important parts of our website: the Mental Health Checklist and Physical Health Checklist. For the Daily Mental Health Checklist, HEALTH CHECK offers 5 questions for users to answer every night intending to help meditate and review their mood state. By answering these questions, users will have an opportunity to acknowledge the level of their mood state and consider whether they are in depression or not. During the pandemic, we highly witnessed nearly 50% of the elders suffered from depression due to insufficiency in care and affection. Consequently, those questions will help users manage their mood as well as become a guide to let them know what they should do every day to boost their mood. To motivate users, we created a little tree for users to grow it through answering the checklist. With every “yes" in the answer, the tree will grow up a bit. With 5 “yes" options, users can see their beautiful and mature tree. Nevertheless, we still have encouraging quotes for users in case they cannot make it to the last stage of the tree. Every day, users will have a chance to grow a little tree in their health records. Coming to Daily Physical Health Checklist, HEALTH CHECK also offers 5 questions related to physical wellness to help and guide users on how to control their health in the pandemic. These questions will be made related to all information provided in the above tabs which we hope users find the web easy to use. Besides the questions, we also compliment users if they choose “YES.” On the other hand, we will pop up an encouraging quote for users to read. We know that it's not good to punish or force someone to do something, especially the elders. Hence, we use quotes related to each question to convincingly persuade them to form a new habit for a better life.
How we built it by Vuejs, Webstom, Nginx, and Canva.
Challenges we ran into RAHEE with Healthcare for the Elders during the pandemic.
Accomplishments that we're proud of completing our website with great ideas and all the functions of the website met our expectations and description. We are proud of spreading this idea and project to all hackers and judges to show how we care for the Elders during this pandemic.
What we learned in this hackathon is teamwork spirit. We had a great time working together. Moreover, each of us has a chance to improve our skills and learn new skills related to design, coding, and idea formation.
What's next for HEALTH CHECK we believe that the world might happen to witness some dangerous diseases as well as environmental issues. Hence, we hope to improve our web as much as possible to support the elders in the future if any diseases come to our world. In the new version of our website, we hope that users do not need to register for an account to access our source of information because we tend to provide a website for every elder over the world. However, users need to create an account if they want to have a “personal healthcare record” which can help them keep track of both mental and physical health with our daily reminders.
