Elder Works

With the rise of relevance in technology, it can be hard for some, especially those who are more senior to keep up. Our app hopes to bring more accessibility to seniors who are looking for jobs.

Inspiration

We wanted to allow everyone even seniors to have open accessibility to the job market.

What it does

The app has a simple UI that is easy to navigate. You can search for jobs based on location and keywords. It also lets you easily apply. All of this is to simplify the application process dramatically.

How we built it

We used react-native as our front-end framework. Then we used Flask for the backend of jobs, utilizing Google Cloud Talent Solution API.

Challenges we ran into

We had problems integrating the flask backend and react-native frontend together.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud that we were both able to learn new skills. Although we may have not gotten the full functionality that we were hoping for, we will definitely be working on this app in the future to get it to where we want it to be.

What we learned

We learned how to do mobile development and how to utilize flask.

What's next for Elder Works

We hope to make the experience on the app even more streamlined and increase accessibility where we can.
