Inspiration

The problem: Senior fall detection and medicine alarms. Data: According to the CDC Falls are the leading cause of fatal and non fatal injuries for seniors aged 65 and above. Over 4 million hospital visits are caused by senior falls. Supplement data: Over 45-55% don’t take their daily pills Forgetfulness is the most common cause of these missed pills accounting for 73% of missed medication.

What it does

Uses ardunio and sensors to detect acceleration and detect if the person wearing the watch has fallen, along with that uses a counting timer to detect when the user has to take their medication.

How we built it

Made the hardware then used HTML and vercel to host for the software.

Challenges we ran into

Detecting falls with the limited amount of sensors I had.

Fairly accurate fall detection.
