Inspiration

Elder TechHub was inspired by my experience volunteering at senior homes as technical support, where I saw many residents struggle with everyday tech issues, often waiting days for help. This motivated me to create a solution that makes technology more accessible and empowering for older adults.

What it does

Elder TechHub provides seniors with easy access to tech support through an app that offers chat assistance, video tutorials, remote troubleshooting, and cyber safety tips. It simplifies technology, helping users stay connected and independent.

How I built it

I developed Elder TechHub using user-friendly design principles and focused on accessibility. The app integrates a chat system, instructional video library, and remote access features. It’s designed to cater to seniors' needs with simplicity and efficiency using Dart.

Challenges I ran into One challenge was addressing the diverse language needs of users, as many seniors use different phones. Designing an app that was compatible with both iOS and Android was challenging.

Accomplishments that I am proud of I am proud to have created a platform that directly improves the lives of seniors by addressing a common yet overlooked problem. Feedback from users has been overwhelmingly positive, showing the real-world impact of Elder TechHub.

What I learned I learned the importance of user feedback and simplicity in design when working with seniors. It also taught me that technology often makes the elderly feel isolated.

What's next for Elder TechHub Next, I plan to add a language translation feature to make the app more inclusive. I am currently implementing it at one senior home in my area and hope to broaden this and enforce it at all senior homes in the area.
