A group of mechanical engineers friends of mine and I thought it could an interesting idea to develop an assistive device of this kind when we experienced how tricky it is to use the elbow with most water taps in public spaces.
We soon realized there were similar products out there but they were lacking universal-adaptability. Most of them are just designed for some particular tap shapes. Our design comprises 2 parts:
The first part is a universal adaptive grip that "grabs" the water tap and is fixed with some sort of cable tie or water-proof tape or elastic rubber. The second part is the extension connected to the aforementioned component using a dovetail connector. We think the design in two parts would allow an easy replacement.
The idea is oriented towards mass-production.
