Inspiration

Inspired by events done by Code-For-Cause. They teach me what is elasticsearch then I created this,

What it does

This is a simple dictionary app in which the use of Elasticsearch is done. I am very new to Elasticseach so I thought this could be a good start for me.

How we built it

Firstly, I collected the words, meanings, and example data from the internet. I have to search a lot for this. Then I created an engine in Elastic App Search. Then, I ingested the data into it, then I created a good looking UI in ReactJs and integrated it with Elasticsearch,

Challenges we ran into

Firstly finding the data was not easy for me. I found it in many places like Kaggle and others. And then as I am very new to this I have to spend a lot of time reading all the documentation about it and how API integration works.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The application is up and running which uses Elasticsearch is a good accomplishment for me.

What we learned

I got to learn a lot of things. Like I learned about Elasticseach, Beats, App Search, Kibana, Logstash etc.

What's next for Elasdict

I will keep updating the app. It is in its initial stage for now. I can also add a feature so that if a word is not in our dictionary then anyone can add it.
