Square App ID

Inspiration
This app is inspired by Farm Fresh to You, DoorDash, Instacart, and Stop&Shop
What it does
Elagora is an online food ordering and delivery website tailored to farmers, freelancers, and local restaurants and cafes.
Upon shopping organic products, you checkout by first entering your address, then it selects the appropriate methods based on that data; the methods in question are "Free Delivery," "Pick-Up," "Express," and "Instant." If the latter two are selected, then the cost will be added to the total cost in the shopping cart, and will be displayed at the Pay button in the checkout page.
However, this feature is not yet implemented. Nevertheless, Square is integrated into the app.
How we built it
The app stack is built using the following technologies:
- Vue 3 with latest version of Nuxt 3.
- Tailwind CSS
Challenges we ran into
Building a shopping cart involves plenty of logic, which makes it difficult to develop.
Integration of shopping cart data to Square payment proves difficult because of the first point above. This consequently hindered development of the aforementioned feature in the "What it does" section.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
First site published with Nuxt 3, and with better design.
What I learned
What I learned is the following:
- Designs before implementation is key, as you have solid ground for development.
- Learning about technologies before using them is important. This is the case for Primevue library, Pinia, and e-commerce sites.
What's next for Elagora
Implementation of the connected shopping cart and Square API logic and shipping method selection logic. Also, the addition of a venue profile page, and pages for restaurants and recipes.
Built With
- node.js
- nuxt-3
- tailwind
