Inspiration
We derived our inspiration for the sudden spike in farmer suicide while investing about this spike we came across a news from Maharashtra which says that farmers demand 13Rs/kg inspite of 6Rs/kg for onions, but for same onions the consumers pay 100Rs/kg. And also during lockdown the middle man in vegetable and fruit sector have increased drastically as it was the product which was allowed to sell, it was the reason that the price are going up. And the last to solve and create a belief in farmers mind that we care for them and respect their hard work . So Ekatwa a bridge to make urban and rural unify.
What it does
So to tackle this problem and help the farmers and the consumers we came up with an unified platform “Ekatwa” that not only connects them directly to each other , but also will be able to provide the consumer fresh fruits and vegetables which will be delivered in less than 24hr . Ekatwa is a social media platform for farmers which not only will keep them connected to urban population but will also connect them to experts in agricultural field at no extra cost through aur program “Ab kisan bhi aayega online”. And the icing on the cake on Ekatwa the will be able to buy all equipments , fertiliser and everything required form world class brand at no delivery cost or very less.
Challenges I ran into
The most tedious job was making the the platform interface interactive and hassle free for both the consumer and the seller . Then the payments was the most challenging part as we need to create it 100% secure and safe . Promotions of platform and introducing it to the farmers was a hurdle. Initially managing the transportation expenses and still maintains the low price claim was a big task.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
That we have contributed to make this India great and unified again in these difficult times . And this also reflects the quote by our prime minister “sabka saath aur sabka vikas”.
What I learned
This project has helped us in improving aur communication skills and team work . Helped us explore different kind of people and societies. We exposed to different coding languages and tools used for web and app development .
What's next for Ekatwa
To keep up with competition and keep costs low we will be looking forward to partner with leading logistics services to help them deliver products at low cost and in remote areas. And generating ads revenue from the from then free discussion platform “Ab kisan bhi aayega online “. And make this community stronger and big by collaboration with big companies
