Inspiration

As a Nigerian student who experienced the frustration of exam delays and lack of quality educational support, I saw the need to create a smarter and more affordable way to help students pass the JAMB exam. This inspired me to build eJAMB, a platform that empowers students through technology, AI, and community-driven learning.

What it does

eJAMB is a smart learning platform for JAMB candidates in Nigeria. It helps students learn faster and perform better by offering:

  • AI-powered question answering (using Gemini AI)
  • Mock exams and past question practice
  • Video tutorials, PDF study guides, and topic-based quizzes
  • Teacher portal for uploading courses and assessments
  • Agent referral system with real-time tracking and rewards
  • Instant discounts for students who use referral codes
  • Live leaderboards and gamification to encourage competition

The platform now supports a multi-role system: students, teachers, referral agents, and admins.

How I built it

I used Bolt.new, a powerful AI website builder, to rapidly rebuild the eJAMB platform with new structure, animations, and improved UX. I integrated:

  • A custom teacher signup role with course creation tools
  • AI assistant features powered by Gemini
  • Paystack for payment processing
  • Lottie animations to enhance the landing page and user journey
  • Live data and conditional logic powered through Bolt’s visual backend

I also connected the platform to www.ejamb.com for real-time usage.

Challenges I ran into

  • Adapting the multi-role system (student, teacher, agent) within Bolt’s ecosystem
  • Handling agent withdrawal logic and tracking referrals
  • Embedding real-time AI features inside a no-code framework
  • Creating responsive layouts that look great on both mobile and desktop

What I learned

  • How to use AI website builders like Bolt to accelerate product development
  • Optimizing user experience using animations and gamified learning flows
  • Building layered access control for different user roles
  • Designing with a clear understanding of my local market (Nigerian education system)

What’s next

  • Add a full mobile app version
  • Launch live competitions and rewards for top students and agents
  • Partner with internet providers like MTN for zero-data learning
  • Scale to other exams like WAEC, NECO, and international examinations
