Inspiration

During Covid-19 pandemic, touchless services/transactions become more important to keeping everyone safe. Digital ID would help progress this through touchless identity recognition method.

What it does

Conneting digital ID and and facial features to ease the paying process at physical locations of local small vendors for both consumers and business owners

How we built it

We built a prototype with Figma to visualize the essential features of the app. Face recognition technology was abstracted as a given API.

Challenges we ran into

Lack of data and highly confidantial information to create a mock-up, address potential concerns from the general public.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our team consists of 4 students in 3 different time zones and we’re really proud of finishing the project before the deadline despite of the challenges in time difference. We’re also proud of how our solution addressed a true problem that all of us have faced in real life and the potential impact this may have for larger communities

What we learned

Digital ID could really bring convenience into people’s everyday life. With today’s technology, it is possible to collect biological information about a person and get that person recognized.

What's next for EiD-TOHacks2021

Create a short video that briefly describe how Information encryption works and a small challenge for them to mimic the decryption of RSA.

Implement the GUI and backend logic for Android as well iOS devices. Explore ways to realize face recognition feature either through existing APIs or build the tool from scratch using current machine learning frameworks.

Gradually increase the sample size of marginalized groups and Add test datasets to measure the performance.
