Inspiration

I am inspired by solving mental health challenges that have resulted in deaths in some instances as people don't have anyone to talk to.

What it does

The project connects therapists with patients that use the platform, and shows office locations of therapists, has a WhatsApp support feature for emergencies.

How we built it

I prototyped the application Uis first and started connecting small parts together. The backend is divided into two parts the socket IO server to support video calls and also a generic backend that therapists uses (a dashboard)

Challenges we ran into

Instead of using a socket IO server to support video calls, I wanted to use Google video calls but I ran into challenges on automatically creating links and automatically joining video calls. The chat function of the app does not work so smoothly. I am also concerned about scaling as I do not have experience in optimization of servers, as much as the socket IO server is concerned.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Maps Integration works pretty well, the WhatsApp chat service also works well. The video call server I made can handle calls pretty well.

What we learned

The experience was fantastic, I cannot imagine I was able to build something that has given me a bit of confidence to take on some real world projects

What's next for eHealth

I do face anxiety around crowds hence even if the app gets accepted in the public, I would struggle in marketing and finding business partners to help me grow, hence what's next is try to find people who can help in marketing and advertising.
