Inspiration

Egypt faces significant challenges with poverty, inequality, and resource distribution. Millions struggle to access basic needs like food, medicine, shelter, and education, while donors and businesses want to help but lack a unified, transparent platform. We were inspired to build a solution that connects everyone—citizens, charities, businesses, and government—using modern technology to ensure help reaches those who need it most, fairly and efficiently.

What it does

The Egypt National Charity & Resource Distribution Platform is a secure, nationwide web application where:

1- Every Egyptian can log in using their national ID. 2- Donors allocate a percentage of their monthly wage or donate goods. 3- People in need receive funds or vouchers to buy discounted essentials from partner businesses. 4- Charities manage and support groups of donees. 5- Businesses offer discounted products and benefit from high-volume, guaranteed sales. 6- Government and regulators monitor needs via a real-time heatmap and analytics. An AI-powered engine ensures fair distribution and provides continuous recommendations to improve the system.

How we built it

This application is still a prototype that needs backend integrations to make it operational. We used bolt.new for rapid prototyping and Claude as our LLM for analytics and recommendations. The platform is modular, with secure authentication via national ID, role-based dashboards, and API integrations for payments and logistics. We leveraged modern web frameworks, cloud hosting, and AI/LLM integration for real-time data analysis and optimization. The design is mobile-first, accessible, and supports both Arabic and English.

Challenges we ran into

This application is still a prototype, and below are the expected challenges

  • Integrating national ID authentication securely and at scale.
  • Designing fair, transparent AI-driven resource allocation.
  • Onboarding diverse user groups (individuals, charities, businesses, government) with different needs.
  • Ensuring data privacy and compliance with Egyptian regulations.
  • Building trust among users, especially vulnerable populations and business partners.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This application is still a prototype, but I am proud of being able to write a detailed prompt that allowed bolt.new to build it this way

  • Creating a unified, user-friendly platform that bridges the gap between donors, donees, businesses, and government.
  • Successfully integrating businesses, enabling them to offer discounted goods and benefit from the platform.
  • Implementing AI/LLM-powered analytics for real-time impact tracking and recommendations.
  • Building a transparent system that encourages more giving and maximizes social impact.

What we learned

This application is still a prototype. The below are what I believe we will learn from this application:

  • The power of combining technology, AI, and community engagement to address complex social challenges.
  • The importance of user-centric design, especially for vulnerable and low-tech users.
  • How crucial transparency and trust are for adoption and long-term success.
  • The value of partnerships—with businesses, charities, and government—in scaling social impact.

What's next for Egypt National Charity & Resource Distribution Platform

This application is still a prototype. What's next is to present and introduce this Application prototype to the Egyptian community, including charity groups, government, and business people, to get funding and start building and operating it.

  • Expand partnerships with more businesses and charities across Egypt.
  • Enhance AI/LLM capabilities for smarter recommendations and fraud detection.
  • Integrate more payment and logistics options for easier donations and deliveries.
  • Launch educational campaigns to raise awareness and onboard more users.
  • Work closely with the government to align with national social welfare strategies and maximize impact.
