EE 109 Class labs

  • Palindrome: Written in assembly language, determine whether an input of numeric digits forms a valid numeric palindrome using the MARS simulator.
  • Stopwatch: Using Arduino UNO board and a LCD shield to write C code to implement a stopwatch (ability to start, stop, and lap). Implemented using state machines and ADC.
  • Thermostat: Using C code, build a thermostat that monitors the room temperature and controls heating/air conditioning devices based on the desired temperature set on the thermostat. It will have a connection to a remote device and exchange temperature information with that device. Involves using a DS1631 temperature sensor, LCD display, control knob (rotary encoder), two buttons, red and green LEDs (if heat or cool is on), and a serial interface (RS-232).
