Inspiration
(View the resources demo at 50% size) It is devastating to see and hear countless stories and lessons where many people don’t have access to Education. We believe that each and every person has the right to learn, grow and excel in their life. As rightly stated by Nelson Mandela, ‘’Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world’’. By engaging in such educational activities every child can have the opportunity of making an impact on one’s life or the entire world!
What it does
EDUVERSE is our own universe where we connect young and blooming children with teachers to empower them to learn, engage, and grow into a smart and wise adult. There are classes and live sessions which the student can attend. In addition to this, it provides some learning resources like E-BOOKS, Question papers, Live tests and much much more!
How we built it
1- HTML, CSS, React JS for frontend 2- Canva and sketching for designing 3- Firebase for authentication and database 4- Bootstrap and materialize for some frontend elements 5- Visual Studio for running the code
Challenges we ran into
1- Timezone difference: CDT, GST and IST 2- Difficult to connect firebase database to React JS 3- Making the authentication 4- Fetching and adding data to cloud 5- Designs for aesthetic appeal
Accomplishments that we're proud of
1- Developed skills in frontend, backend and debugging. 2- Creating EDUVERSE to provide education 3- Improving skills in website and graphic designing. 4- Using Firebase for storing and fetching data
What we learned
We have developed our skills in React JS and Firebase. We also improved our website designing skills and got to know more about the Education sector through hours of research and most importantly we learnt how to work as a team and manage time efficiently.
What's next for Eduverse
In the future, EDUVERSE will have its own forum/community, in brief it will be a community of students who will engage discussions on various topics to build a friendly atmosphere. We will also be adding some more platforms the student and teacher can communicate through. In addition to this, we will also be crowning the best student of the week, month and year to motivate students (A specific criteria will be applied)
