Inspiration came from YouTube and other educational apps such as Khan Academy, Google Classroom and Duolingo.
What it does - a prototype for the app, it has a log in screen that lets you select your language. It lets you go back and forth between pages with arrows at the bottom, and lets you choose between Numeracy and Literacy. It also has a quiz that you can take that determines your numeracy and literacy understanding, and it will place you in a "understanding level" that is only visible to you. After the quiz is taken, you can watch videos on whatever course you are interested in.
How we built it - We built it using Figma, a site that lets you use different panels. It is similar to Google Slides or PowerPoint.
Challenges we ran into - We ran into the challenge of not knowing how to use Figma at first, and coming up with what questions to ask for the quiz itself. However, after an hour or two of brainstorming we got it figured out!
Accomplishments that we're proud of - Getting our idea finalized and actually putting it together once we got the idea for "EduTube" after hours of brainstorming and trying to figure out what we could possible do for the hackathon.
What we learned - How to use Figma, how to work as a team, you shouldn't try to perfect things on a deadline (especially when it is a prototype), workshop things (full-stack development, github)
What's next for EduTube - Offline learning, getting more teachers, maybe making it a full "actual" thing if anyone likes the idea.
