EduSync

Inspiration

During my middle school years we were introduced to Chromebook and iPad which offered a new way of learning, and gave students access to many more educational programs and games. Nowadays technology has advanced but many of the apps are still the same, and do not take advantage of AI or machine learning in order to personalize the learning experience for others.

What it does

My app learns the students strengths and weaknesses as they learn, allowing them to grow their strengths and work on their weaknesses. Suppose a student does not understand multiplication but is great at addition, we will push more problems towards that subject till they are used to the process. The app also adapts to the way that the student learns. With different types of lessons such as: video lessons, visual lessons, practical hands on lessons. Depending on the students choice and the result the app will decide how to teach the student. There is also a virtual tutor built into the app that helps answer any questions!

How we built it

for the app, I used Figma and AppHive as I was able to make rough schema of the app and then bring it to reality.

Challenges we ran into

I wanted to make EduSync different than other apps, I did not want to limit the experience that the students have on this app. They will have access to any class that they want and also learn that class however they want. This means that they are learning better and more productive as the app tailors itself to their learning abilities.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am very proud of how I was able to pick up a new skill which was leaning how to build UI on Figma. In other projects I have built, I used mostly backend python and java, but through this app I was able to test out new front end development tools.

What we learned

I learned the importance of details. When you are building an app to improve on a specific niche, you want to make sure that you can stand out among all the apps which are already present. Instead of competing with them you want to make sure that your app has all the things that the other apps lack.

What's next for EduSync

My next plan with EduSync is to try and build the backend for this app and bring it to life. I would like to help others learn using this app, and be able to make learning a little easier for everyone.
