Inspiration
Online learning has made education accessible, but it often lacks the interaction and engagement of a physical classroom. We wanted to create a learning experience where students feel connected, collaborate naturally, and stay motivated. This inspired us to build EduSphere, an AI-powered 3D virtual classroom.
What it does
EduSphere allows students and teachers to join a realistic 3D classroom as avatars. Students can attend live classes, interact with teachers, collaborate with classmates, ask questions to an AI tutor, complete quizzes and assignments, and earn rewards through gamification. The platform also provides attendance tracking, analytics, and real-time communication.
How we built it
Frontend: React + Vite
3D Environment: Three.js + React Three Fiber
Backend: Node.js + Express
Database: Firebase / MongoDB
Authentication: Firebase Authentication
Real-time Communication: WebRTC
AI Features: OpenAI API
Deployment: GitHub + Vercel
Challenges we ran into
Building a smooth 3D classroom experience while supporting multiple users in real time was challenging. We also worked on optimizing performance, integrating AI features, synchronizing avatars, and creating an intuitive user interface.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Built an immersive 3D virtual classroom.
Integrated AI-powered tutoring and doubt solving.
Created an engaging learning experience with gamification.
Designed a scalable platform for modern education.
What we learned
This project helped us gain practical experience in 3D web development, real-time communication, AI integration, frontend and backend development, and collaborative software engineering.
What's next for EduSphere
We plan to add VR support, multilingual learning, AI-generated study notes, virtual science laboratories, emotion-aware learning, and personalized AI learning paths to make online education even more interactive and effective.
