Inspiration
Learning today is often fragmented , students jump between multiple platforms for roadmaps, mentorship, and projects, while mentors and founders struggle to engage efficiently. I wanted to create a single hub where learners get personalized AI-guided paths, mentors can easily share their expertise, and founders showcase projects to get real feedback.
What it does
EduSpark is an AI-powered Learning and Mentorship Hub that brings everything into one place: Personalized AI Roadmaps for students based on their career goals. Seamless Mentor Scheduling integrated with Google Calendar. Project Showcase Gallery where students and founders display work, collaborate, and get peer/mentor feedback.
How we built it
Frontend: React with Tailwind. Backend: Flask APIs with MongoDB for storage. Integrations: Google Calendar for mentorship booking. AI Assistance: Used Kiro to generate initial React components, structure Flask boilerplates, and debug MongoDB schemas quickly.
Challenges we ran into
- Integrating Google Calendar smoothly with Flask authentication.
- Designing roadmaps that were both flexible and personalized.
- Time constraints while balancing frontend polish with backend stability.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Building a working prototype in limited time.
- Getting AI-generated roadmaps to dynamically adapt to career goals.
- Automating boilerplate code with Kiro, which let me focus on real features.
What we learned
- How to leverage AI (Kiro) effectively in the spec-to-code workflow.
- Importance of UX simplicity when designing learning dashboards.
- How mentorship scheduling can be automated to save time for both students and mentors.
What's next for EDUSPARK-Learning and Mentorship Hub.
- Adding real-time chat and collaboration rooms.
- Expanding roadmap generator to cover more domains with deeper AI customization.
- Partnering with mentors and startups to make EduSpark a real-world community.
- Mobile app version for accessibility.
