Inspiration
Since, I am a Student too, the much of the inspiration was my life. It was always hard for me and my friends around to study in class and not get one-to-one tutor. Also , millions of students today don't get good educationa dn teacher, and they lack behind due to this. Many don’t know what to study, how to plan, or which career path to follow. I wanted to create one place that feels like a personal mentor.
What it does
EduSmart is an AI-powered learning assistant that helps students: 🗓 Study-Mode - Students can plan or study with appropriate files to make the learning more personalized. 📝 Practice better – Students can take quizzes to their knowledge. 🧭 Discover careers – Career Navigator suggests personalized paths and skill roadmaps. 🤝 Learn together – Community board to ask questions, share notes, and collaborate. 🧠 Personalize - Students can personalize the leanring by tell about themselve, so that AI can get more context about them. It’s like having a study buddy, career counselor, and productivity coach all in one app.
How we built it
We built EduSmart with: ⚛️ React + Tailwind + Framer Motion for a clean, minimal, and animated UI. 🗄 MongoDB + Express + Node.js for backend APIs and data storage. 🤖 AI + LLM Integration to generate quizzes, create study plans, and provide career guidance. 🎨 Designed the experience to be minimalistic & distraction-free, so students focus on what matters. We used Kiro extensively to speed up development.
Challenges we ran into
🧠 Balancing personalization while keeping the platform simple and not overwhelming users. 🤯 Managing real-time updates (like upvotes, comments, quizzes) without hurting performance. 🎯 Designing UI that feels minimal but still has quick access to all major features.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I have Built a working end-to-end platform that feels smooth and engaging. Integrated AI to generate quizzes and career guidance dynamically. Created a clean, distraction-free study mode with a chat assistant and quick actions.
What we learned
Since this was one of my first time using Ai powered IDE, I think this helped me a lot to improve my conversation with AI. Also how managing the task, breaking down into sub-task can work much better than just executing whole task at once. I also learned to use Kiro’s vibe coding and agent hooks to speed up development and maintain code quality.
What's next for EduSmart
I have been testing it and also my brother have been using it to prepare for exam. If the feedback is good enough, i will be looking forward for deployment with mass target. Also i will be adding offline support so students with poor internet can still study.
