Inspiration

Many educational institutions and schools in Latinamerica are not prepared to jump into virtual learning. The current tools offering virtual education are very complex, they required accounts, setups, configurations, link sharing, file uploads, are not in Spanish and are not so friendly if you have never been involved with online learning. Besides the communication between teachers and students on those platforms is not happening in real time like if they were in the same classroom.

What it does

Alupy is just a simple space where teachers and students can connect, speak in real time and share a virtual blackboard just like if they were in the same classroom. Teachers and students don't need to have accounts, they just search for their teacher's classroom and voilà, the course can continue online with the teacher and students connected and sharing a virtual blackboard.

How I built it

The platform is build using Bubble, and the API of Agora which is a Real-Time Voice and Video Engagement and the API of AWW and Online Witheboard for Real Time Visual Collaboration.

Challenges I ran into

The main challenges are the creation of the independent classroom for all teachers. Also the Internet connection is very slow as many people is staying at home, so the bandwidth is a tricky part.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I was able to successfully connect all this different tools and create a new solution.

What I learned

Right now there's a big issue with the Internet connection as everybody is at home and the network is collapsing in the cities, so the streaming quality is being affected.

What's next for Alupy, Alupy, One Click Teaching

Alupy is now under test for a small group of teachers and their students, we're preparing to receive the thousands of teachers and the millions of students that need to stay connected in Latinamerica to continue their education.
