Inspiration

The inspiration for this project is the high dropout rates of students around the world. Every year, millions of students drop out of school, often due to poverty and socio-economic reasons. This has a devastating impact on the lives of individuals and societies, leading to poverty, crime, and social unrest.

What it does

This project proposes a web-based platform that empowers government officials, educators, and policymakers to combat high student dropout rates due to poverty and socio-economic reasons. The platform offers comprehensive data analysis and visualization tools to assess dropout rates across various categories, including schools, areas, gender, caste, and age. Key features include predictive analytics, policy recommendations, data security, collaboration tools, and impact assessment. By facilitating data-driven decisions and targeted interventions, the platform aims to improve the right to education and reduce dropout rates, especially among disadvantaged students.

How we built it

This project is still in the early stages of development, but we are planning to use a variety of technologies to build it, including:

Data visualization tools such as matplotlib
Machine learning libraries such as Renderforest

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges we anticipate facing is collecting and cleaning the data needed to train the machine learning model. This data will need to be collected from a variety of sources, such as school districts, government agencies, and non-profit organizations. It is also important to note that the data will need to be anonymized to protect the privacy of students.

Another challenge is developing a machine learning model that is accurate and reliable. The model will need to be able to identify patterns in the data that are associated with dropouts.

Finally, we will need to develop a user-friendly and intuitive platform that is easy for government officials, educators, and policymakers to use. The platform should provide users with the tools and insights they need to make informed decisions and develop effective interventions to reduce dropout rates.

What we learned

We have learned a lot about dropout prevention and the challenges faced by students and families around the world. We have also learned about the importance of data-driven decision-making and the potential of machine learning to improve education outcomes.

What's next for this project

We are currently in the process of developing a prototype of the platform. Once the prototype is complete, we will conduct user testing and make necessary revisions. We also plan to develop a more comprehensive data analysis and visualization dashboard.

Once the platform is ready, we plan to partner with government agencies, school districts, and non-profit organizations to implement it in schools and communities around the world. We hope that this platform will make a real difference in the lives of students and help them reach their full potential.
