Inspiration
Education systems generate a huge amount of valuable student data, but this information remains fragmented across different institutions, portals, and platforms. A student's academic journey is divided between school records, university portals, certificates, projects, and online learning platforms.
We were inspired by the idea of creating a lifelong digital identity where students can own, manage, and showcase their complete learning journey while receiving AI-powered guidance for their future.
What We Built
EduPassport AI is an AI-powered Universal Student Identity Platform that transforms scattered academic records into a unified digital academic passport.
The platform provides:
- A centralized student profile containing academic history, skills, projects, and achievements
- A visual academic timeline showing the student's learning journey
- AI-powered career recommendations based on academic background and skills
- Personalized learning roadmaps to help students achieve career goals
- Skill gap analysis to identify areas for improvement
How We Built It
We developed a modern web application with a dashboard-focused interface where students can visualize their academic progress and receive personalized insights.
The frontend was designed as a professional analytics dashboard using modern UI components, charts, timelines, and data visualization elements.
For AI capabilities, we integrated the Gemini API to analyze student profiles, recommend suitable career paths, identify missing skills, and generate personalized learning plans.
The platform architecture was designed to support future integration with university systems such as student portals, allowing academic information to be securely synchronized into a universal student profile.
Challenges We Faced
One of the biggest challenges was designing a system that could work across different educational platforms with different data structures. Since universities maintain independent systems, creating a universal format for academic information requires careful data modeling.
Another challenge was transforming raw academic information into meaningful insights. Instead of simply displaying records, we focused on using AI to help students understand their strengths, weaknesses, and future opportunities.
What We Learned
Through building EduPassport AI, we learned how AI can transform traditional education data into personalized experiences. We explored how large language models can analyze student information and provide valuable guidance similar to an academic career advisor.
Our project demonstrates how a unified digital identity combined with AI can help students make better educational and career decisions.
